This is the first solo from Achilles Last Stand by Led Zeppelin. It's one of, if not the, greatest guitar solos ever.

Don't rate it by speed or difficulty, listen to the composition of that masterpiece.

And by the way, if you are one of those idiots who judges a solo by how fast it's played, Heartbreaker (by Led Zeppelin, of course) definately wins.
 
Led Zeppelin is the greatest and Nightwish doesn't exist in comparison.

Listen to Nightwish. You will be blown away by the lead singer's voice and never listen Led Zeppelin again. Listen to elvenpath
 
Targelion, you're one of the biggest LoTR fans that I know of. Ya know who the other is? Robert Plant. That's right, the lead singer of Led Zeppelin. Led has two songs relating to The Hobbit ("Misty Mountain Hop" and "Over the Hills and Far Away") and two relating to LoTR ("Ramble On" and "Battle of Evermore"), so I think you should have some respect for them. Also Plant named his dog Strider.

But as for the greatest guitawr solo ever, I think one of the best is in Freebird. Yeah, people say it's so great because it was long, but seriously, it owns!
 
First of all, Robert Plant kicks the Nightwish singers *** SOOOOOO much.

Second, Dakare, I actually (this time) don't mean to offend you, but Freebird is overrated and nobody knows it. Seriously, hardcore guitar-lovers make fun of people for liking Freebird. (Deep mocking voice) "Hey guys, Freebird is the best solo ever!"

You can compare it to making fun of people who like Green Day: learn the power chord and you can play the whole song.

Good point.

I personally don't think this is the greatest ever, but its good.

As for Free Bird, it is my personal favorite song of all time, but it would more be classified as a duet due to the dueling guitars.
 
Ugh, Zeppelin's really slipping. Whatever, it's definately better when they play it. Nightwish *scoffs*. Go make your own songs.
 
Now you want to listen to more nightwish right?

Maybe I'll write songs about legendary heroes slaying powerful foes and rescuing elf princesses or something like that.
 
Go ahead, just don't use someone elses music.

Wow, you just got on my good side.

And they would really be screwing over Jason Bonham if they had anyone else. I mean it's the guy's son.
 
Not to mention they're basically bad metal (and metal is pretty bad by itself, imo). So just don't listen to Targelion, Hippie. He has bad taste in music.
