Best Anime/Manga Character

Now before anyone kills me, this is just a thread to see which character's I'm gonna put into a series of poll's to decide it all. Think of it as character wars with Anime. For every series, only two or three characters will be chosen, so argue any cases about why they should be chosen.

As per official canon, Lawliet was L's last name. His actual first name was... L. Yes, I'm serious.

That aside, add Simon (and possibly Kamina) from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. Simon wasn't that cool in the first part, but was sheer badass post-timeskip while Kamina... was Kamina. 'Nuff said.
