Well, our political structure could still rule everything out. You see, when someone votes for president, their vote is not a direct vote for the president. You are actually voting for an electoral vote. A group of high political individuals make up the "Electoral College", which are the real individuals behind who gets to be president and vice president. Members of the board are supposed to vote for whomever received the majority vote in their area, hence they "pledge to vote" for an individual. However, it has been known that on many occasions electors have submitted a vote different than what they have pledged to vote for. Of course, this is looked down upon, although there is really nothing to stop them from doing so.
There, an American government lesson in a single post, what fun
. Just as an add-in, this is only for the president and vice president. If you vote for a senator, house representative, etc, your vote counts directly for an individual without any go-between.
So, anyway, I'll reiterate what everyone has said being that it is unlikely, due to the fact she is a women, Hillary will become president. Many individuals in this country are rather scared of a women president. In addition, it's rather optimistic to think every women in the country would vote for her, mainly as I know many women whom do not agree with Clinton on several policies. I actually recently spoke to a few friends I meet up with at JrNYLT and NYLT, along with my adviser, all of us having a long discussion on the matter.
