January 2010 Mailbag

Okay, since Bob won’t tell me if there’s an easier way to do this, I’m going in and copy / pasting each question in seperately. Hopefully this works. If not, at least I tried. And failed. But that’s beside the point.

Dakare asks:

If it were your last day on Earth (and you knew it), what would you do?

UltimaLink007 answers:

Dance. But seriously, I would probably leave my home with my GameCube and find a hotel a decent distance away taking public transportation to get there. If I had no will, I’d write one in a hotel room I’d rent, and then play Custom Robo until I either drop dead or am transported to a non-Earth location.

Dakare asks:

If you found a smurf, what would you do?

UltimaLink007 answers:

I would kill it. With fire. And if that does not work, I shall snap its neck and bury it so that none but I shall know of the deed.

Dakare asks:

What color does a smurf turn when it is choking?

UltimaLink007 answers:

You ask as if I were to know. What the crap is wrong with you? Do you have some smurf fetish or something similar? What is your fascination with smurfs and the choking of them? These are all rhetorical, so if you send in more mailbag questions about the subject, especially ones that attempt to answer my own return questions, I will have to become quite depressed and stop doing the mailbag. And not do it ever again. Seriously.

kukushi3 asks:

Would Nintendo ever make a futeristic Zelda game? I heard a rumor saying they were working on one, but I don’t think it would be a good idea, and I would like to know if that rumor may be true.

UltimaLink007 answers:

I would not put it past Nintendo to stray away from classic settings and times and what the fans are comfortable with, so yes, I do think at one point Nintendo will turn to a more ‘futuristic’ or even modern-day Legend of Zelda game sometime in the future. I believe this, because I look at the evidence surrounding us right now that this could happen. Mario has gone from saving Princess Peach from a series of old castles to saving Princess Peach in outer space. Nintendo’s trying to catch new target markets while leasurely dragging true fans around with all of the silliness and whatnot. A display of Zelda modernizing slowly comes also with the Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, as you now ride a train, not a horse (Epona) or boat (King of Red Lions) whichwould represent industrialization and moving forward with time.

As for the rumor, I can’t confirm, but it sounds like something I can see happening.

Ides of March asks:

Do you guys love me or what?

UltimaLink007 answers:

Love over the Internet is for the creepiest of creepy people. I’m not that creepy, sorry

Ides of March asks:

Do you believe in magic? If so, what kind? Have you ever eaten magic? Does it taste like really bitter, rainbow-colored ice cubes? Because that’s what I used to think when I was but a little girl.

UltimaLink007 answers:

No, but I do believe in trickery and deception put under the guise of ‘magic.’ Isn’t skepticism just fun? I have not eaten magic, so I can not give you a taste. Everything you think is wrong. Not really, but I like saying that.

Ides of March asks:

So tell me… why should I care about Zelda?

UltimaLink007 answers:

The character is a completely helpless wuss except in Wind Waker and Spirit Tracks, so you really shouldn’t care about her unless you’re playing a Legend of Zelda game, because the sole point tends to be ‘Kill x (usually Ganondorf) and save Zelda.’ If you mean the game, only care about it if you enjoy playing it. What’s the point of caring about the game if you don’t like it?

Ides of March asks:

This is a question for Bob: When is the last time anyone threw you off of a really high tower?

webmasterbob answers:

About 7 months ago, give or take a few weeks…

Ides of March asks:

If I decided to run for president, would you guys vote for me?

UltimaLink007 answers:

If our political ideologies share more similarites than any of your opposition for the office of the Presidency of the United States of America, then yes, I would vote for you.

Ides of March asks:

Hiya. I was wondering, how would all of your lives be different without this website?

UltimaLink007 answers:

I would have a life. Bob would focus more on college. DJ would focus more on getting into college. Andrew would be the same as he currently is probably.
