A Look Back in Time
It certainly took a while, but on October 4th, 2006 we were able to launch our first version of Zelda Sages. The information and structure were made up of years of work, agony, and lost sleep.

Our initial launch of Zelda Sages gave a good clean layout with the ability to change styles. However, there were a multitude of problems. From spam on comments to whacky errors with our site integration we were forced to think of another solution. I went around looking at what some other sites have done, and it generally all fell towards using the popular content management systems Joomla or Mambo. I’ve used these two systems before, which were actually the systems that crashed and destroyed our content in 2005. So, I set out and found the perfect solution for us. I spent about three days without sleep making a skin to use with our newly purchased CMS *it wasn’t cheap either* and showing it to Windmage. His quote is still stuck in my head, “WOW! You really did stay up for three days!” So, after that approval and running through everything with ZeldaGuardian I started redesigning the forums behind the scenes making everything even better. Sure enough on November 5th I relaunched Zelda Sages. I received almost nothing but positive remarks about the move from staff and members alike, so I am very happy with the work I threw in for a few weeks.
Our 2007 Plan
So, what do we plan to do with 2007? We actually have a good number of things planned. I will mention prior to any of my ramblings that you, the viewer, can always suggest anything you please by using either our contact form or posting in our suggestions and feedback board . You can also E-mail specific staff members for suggestions about their department via their staff E-mails all viewable on our nifty staff page .
So, what our we doing in short? Why, everything on this list:
- Continue to make the best experiance we can for our visitors
- Improve perks for registered members
- Finish game information for a few neglected games
- Launch the Zelda Sages Encyclopedia
- Begin uploading more downloadable computer swag
- Run a full report over staff work ethic to see if any staff members need replacing
- Perform everything on the todo list
- Create a Moderator Guide to reduce moderation errors
- Launch the Zelda Sages chatroom *interest and money pending*
- Begin publishing the mail bag
- Improve news response skills
- Affiliate with other Legend of Zelda sites to further throw our name out there
- Work on a few more interactive site features
- Create some form of editorial section
That’s the short list of our goals by the end of 2007. We’ve had a great year at Zelda Sages and hope to look forward to an even better year. 2007 will be our first full year as an established site. I know that the staff, as well as myself, are looking forward to a fantastic year!
