What an E3! The announcement of the Zelda 25th Anniversary features, the Wii U, and the promise of Skyward Sword during the 2011 Holiday Season! First of all, I wanted to point out that I, finally, made the Skyward Sword section of Zelda Sages. It’s not much now, just a few screenshots, but when the new site design comes in, those sections will be far more descriptive.
Also, over the next few weeks, expect some evaluations of specific components of E3 by the Zelda Sages staff, after the excitement of E3 cools off and we can give our honest answers and evaluations.
For those of you that missed the huge amount of E3 news coming from all over the web, here were the biggest announcements from Nintendo:
- Nintendo announces a Holiday 2011 release date for The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword
- To honor the 25th Anniversary of Zelda, Nintendo is releasing one Zelda game for each console, sending a free soundtrack CD to those that register Ocarina of Time 3D on Club Nintendo, releasing a special edition Wii Remote, and perform Legend of Zelda Symphony Concerts all throughout the world (with CDs of the concerts being produced).
- Nintendo’s next console, the Wii U, was announced. The Wii U features a tablet style controller and HD graphics said to be several times the horsepower of current generation systems, such as the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
- The Wii U will be ditching friend codes in favor of a profile system.
- Next Smash Brothers will be on both the Wii U and the 3DS, with some form of connectivity.
That’s all for now! Look for our analysis in the coming days/weeks. In the meantime, I need to get back to coding the new site design :).
