The footage reveals the second dungeon area, the Eldin Volcano.
The first thing most of you that have kept up with Skyward Sword will notice, Link begins from the large town present at the beginning of the game, leaping off the floating island and calling for his bird companion. There is a beam of red light erupting from the world below. For the first time, at least for me, I could really hear the orchestral music through my speakers. The sky-overworld theme seems to be a mix of the grand brass music which acompanied American World War propaganda videos dealing with aviation and a mixture of the Hyrule overworld. Although the period the listener can hear the music is brief, it’s enough to wet the appetite.
Interestingly, the Zelda team has also incorporated the additional action of parachuting into the area, which adds a nice, exciting touch. The clip ends after a brief message from Phi, the spirit of the sword, describing Eldin Volcano.
Want even more? IGN posted a short demo-real presented at the conference, including new shots of Link fighting in the desert, riding a roller-coaster, making using of the double hookshot introduced in Twilight Princess, and a short scene of Link fighting Ghirahim on what appears to be an airship, attempting to protect Zelda. The final clip demonstrates the Skyward Sword upgrade system. Interesting note, it seems Skyward Sword includes ave statues similar to Majora’s Mask. As far as whether or not the game can be saved from a pause menu in Skyloft remains to be seen. Enjoy!
